Default Upgrade Question

On my Heritage I currently have Polk DB652's on the crash bar and DB692's in the bag lids. These are connected in parallel to a Power Acoustik RZ2 1300D. I use an Ipod as my head unit. Around town this works good enough for me. However, anything over about 60mph I have to crank it up to hear it. It's loud enough but the sound quality really suffers. In order to get a good clear sound which should I try first: upgrading the speakers or upgrading the amp? Or am I pretty much looking at a complete do-over?

Well sound at speed is difficult Do you have the fronts on one channel and the 6x9 on the other?

I would start with a better amp for sure. Those specs for that amp are extremely overinflated. I would eventually change the speakers as well but for now a better amp would serve you well.

That's a huge mistake. Never parallel a 6.5 and 6x9 together.

Any recommendations on amps? I started with a 2 channel amp because I was going to run just the bag speakers. I came back and added the fronts because I couldn't hear over the wind. I'll be going 4 channel this time around.

Watch Amazon for the price on the Stinger 700x4 to drop down to around $180. It's marine rated and small and will work perfectly did you.

The stinger is a great amp at 180. If you cant get it at that the SD 800.4 would work great and has a lot of power.
