Challenge accepted. And yes your thumb controls will still work.

If you're not in a huge hurry...watch Amazon for that Stinger amp. The price will dip to $180 periodically.

Ok Chris here you go.

Kenwood

Amazon Amazon

Or Sony

Amazon Amazon

Mount for HU (works for either HU)

Amazon Amazon

Thumb control interface (works for both HU)

Amazon Amazon

RCA (get 2 if you're doing rear speakers too)

https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item...r-SI421.5.html

Radio splash cover

Amazon Amazon

Stinger amp (watch for price drop)

2 sets of MMats 601.cx plus the adapters for the front speakers. You will also more than likely need a 1/2" spacer for the tourpack speakers to fit.

You'll also need 6' of each... 8 gauge power and ground wire and an inline 40 amp fuse.
With the Stinger at around $180 that's as close as I can get you to your budget.

Hey Chris one thing I'll toss out there is do you plan on using more than one USB port? I ask because on my bike I leave an iPod with all of my music on it plugged in all the time. Some folks like to leave a USB thumb drive with all their music plugged in likewise. If you think you would like to do something like that maybe consider a head unit that has one rear and one front USB port. That way you could extend the rear USB port to wherever you want it to go to plug up a thumb drive full of music and leave the front one free for plugging up your phone.

If you don't think you would do that then don't fret over it, it's just something some folks think about. One thing I'll say about the Sony units is you can download their SongPal app on your phone and use it to tune and control your head unit. It makes fine tuning a single din head unit a breeze.

SBates08,
you are definitely a lifesaver. I am going to start piecing it all together, while still keeping an eye on the classifieds and Amazon/eBay for deals on stinger. If a stinger cannot be had for under 200, what is the next best amp in that price range that will keep me open for future additions.

Let me ask you one more question. And please don't think that I'm trying to avoid your advice. Im going to keep looking for the stinger, but if i can get my hands on a reasonably priced sd800.4d evo or an mmats 4110. Would those be comparable to the stinger? I promise that I am taking your advice. Just looking at plan b's just in case I can't find a stinger for under 200.
