Default SBD lids

Ok folks. Been fitting up the lids. Crazy 8s. Of course once the latch mechanism is in, the speakers don’t fit. PRV CF 8s. I took the dremel out and whittled away. Maybe something changed in 2020 but I had to take a lot away.
so, has anybody tried a 1/2” spacer? Raise the speaker up so the basket doesn’t hit the mechanism?

thoughts?
thanks

That is what is hitting. I used a dremel and really cut into the latch/lock mechanism. Still functions, sorta, and was able to make it fit. I wonder if I had gone with advanblack, would the angle have been better with less cutting? I'm searching for a 1/2" spacer, but the dimensions are not in my favor. Need 8.25 OD, 7.25 ID.

Looks better after smoothing, but the piece that keeps the cable sheathing from moving is gone. Will likely have to glue it so it doesn't move and will allow the cable to work.

I'd try drilling some small holes there and use stainless steel safety wire to secure the cable, should work much better than glue and removable if neeeded too.
