Are my speakers shedding or has someone moved in ?
I've got a 2015 Ultra Limited (owned since new), 32K miles, original front speakers, but with the HD plastic mesh covers. I replaced the factory 'cloth' grills in 2017 after a crow decided to peck a hole in them while at Yellowstone. That is the only time my fairing has been opened. Bike is always garaged.
I've noticed some grass sticking out of both the left and right front speakers. I remove it, and after awhile, more appears. I've tried shining a flashlight in the speakers. The speaker cones seems intact. I assume there is some grass inside the fairing, probably from a mouse nest, that is working its way towards the speakers as wind pushes it somehow.
I'll attach a couple pictures.
Any other thoughts on the cause ? Have never heard of this before.
