were the gains set to max amp watts or to max speaker potential, also what are the crossovers set at?

not going say his name Im not doggin him trying to figure out my mistake the speakers are rated 300 watts SD800 4 ohm brided is 400 watts eack speaker I realize why they blew but he tells me thats how he runs his setups usually just like this with SD800. my mistake must been that I used SMD to set gains and I should have used volt meter ill check tonite what the volts are tured all the way down I see on chart for 300 watt 4 ohm is 34.6 IDK
