I’m looking at getting Bluetooth helmet systems for my wife and me. We both wear half helmets and I’m not crazy about the idea of adding ear flaps to install the speakers, and my wife has ear issues which would prevent her from wearing earbuds for any length of time. Have any of you figured out a way to put the speakers in half helmets without using the ear flaps or earbuds? I’ve also seen systems where the mic is installed up in the front of the helmet near the forehead instead of a boom mic. Are these any good? I ride an 08 SG and we currently use my iPhone and Bluetooth capable stereo HU to listen to music.

 

Sena makes an over the ear headset for this set up. I’m honestly not a fan though as you still have to fasten the helmet over top and I had some issues making it work properly and not turning on and off. They also make the Calvary helmets that have the built in systems but haven’t tried it.
