Recently picked up the new head unit for dirt cheap on eBay. Went scrolling through here first because I knew it wasnt waterproof, but I wanted to see what else everyone has done or what issues theyve had with the unit. I took someones advice (cant remember their username, sorry) and vinyl wrapped all 4 corners of the unit to the main encasement, only leaving below the button rack itself - I saw a lot of yall doing this and am curious how well its worked for you? I put a strip of vinyl over the button rack and the edge of the screen as well. I also put a piece of clear plastic sheeting over the top of the rear of the unit and left enough as an overhang to prevent water from seeping into the control circuits or over the wires in the rear. Is there anything else that can be done aside from a cover? thats being made but theres a waitlist.
I did notice an area on the bottom corners that may take in water, but how likely is it that water will get in behind the screen there?
