I wonder what the rest of your setup consist of and why you need to pair the 6x9's? That amp will give 200w per channel at 4 ohm and there are some damn good sounding 6x9's with that power.
The ex4 is rated at 400w @ 2 ohms, so just for the extra kick

I understand where you are coming from and would like to tell you that there are some great 2 ohm 6x9's out there but i cant. Infinity kappa 6x9's are ok but have a weak plastic basket that has a history of breaking with power. I will tell you that some good 4 ohm speakers sound amazing with 200w each. Mmats 690.4 cx are extremely load with that power and still have damn good SQ. Hertz mpx 690's and the new hertz sx690 neos are a bit better and are water resistant. Diamond audio have good reviews here but I personally haven't heard them in person. GZ 7x10 will also do well with that power but may take some mods to fit in the lids.

yes, 2 ohm 6x9’s are a no go lol, I think I have settled on a set of dd vo-m6x9a’s. Any experience with the sq of those?

Yes as i have a set on the shelf now. Damn good mids but no high end as they sound like crap over 5-6K hz. They go real low for a 6x9 but again you have no highs from them. You will need a horn/tweeter in the rear to provide any high frequency.
