Question Additional Speakers?

I have Boom Stage 2 fairing and saddlebag speakers and amps for those on my street glide. I have an aftermarket tour pack with speaker pods and speakers, I am sure the speakers are crap. Can I add 6 1/2 stock or stage 1 speakers to what I've got without an amp?

Yes you can but it wont sound good at all. Thee is a capped 4plug Molex coming out of the hu that goes to the rear speakers. If your hu has been flashed for fade front to rear then that plug is active. If you dont have fade then the hu will need to be flashed. Keep in mind that the boom hu provides 2 ohm output so your speakers will need to be 2 ohm. Maybe a set of hd speakers will work but again it wont sound very good.

The hu is flashed for fade utilizing the saddlebag speakers. I believe I have seen some 6.5" 2ohm H-D speakers on ebay for less than- $100

Follow up question!

I know the stage 2 speakers are 2ohms, do I need to stick to 2 ohms? what would happen if I added 6.5" tour pack speakers that are 4 ohms?

Half the power.
Let's pretend the HU puts out 50w/ch to a 2 ohm speaker. Throw some 4 ohm speakers back there and you'll be running them at 25w.

Like others have said, not worth it -- even at 50w

Update on this! Spoke with an HD tech who said "you can add 2 more speakers to the boom amp, just create a wire harness!"

So now I'm looking for assistance with that! Will get some Stage 1 or 2 6.5" speakers and somehow wire them into the amp with the saddlebag lid speakers.
