Hello all I have a 2020 street glide and it came with the rf 4 speaker set up(bag lids and fairing) now is this system louder than stock? Yes they are. Do I know this bike can make a lot more noise? Why yes I do. I intend to take amp and speakers out to replace.
I had just about convinced myself to go with hertz Mille pro 6x9 and 6.5 and was reading page after page looking at amp suggestions. So much so I'm not as sure as I was that the hertz have the best sound for the money. I have a budget of around 100 for the speakers and amp. I was starting to really look at the stinger700 but completely second guessing myself. I do have the stock HU
Guess my main questions are
1 millie pro 6.5 and 6x9 with the stinger 700 going to be a decent match up or should i look else where
2 can I up grade my amp and then come back and put the speakers in 2-3montha down the road or will the rf 6.5 and 6x9 not like the new stinger and its power very much?
First what amp are you running now? If it is the tm400x4 then I wouldn't replace it yet as that amp is under rated and most of them will put out 125+ per channel. Although I am a fan of hertz speakers, those mpx 6.5's will just make your ears bleed with high frequencies. The mpx 690's on the other hand are damn good in the rear but are not water resistant. The new sx 690 neo hertz are motorcycle built and you would be hard pressed to tell the difference between them and the mpx. I have run the hertz mpx off a tm400 and it sounded damn good. The go to speaker right now is the gz yellow basket coax for the fairing but like power. The mmats 601cx are a perfect fit with that amp and will give you lots of volume with great SQ in the fairing. Do you know if the HU has been flashed? I ask as if using a bt355 then your signal is already being filtered and not giving you the best signal to your amp if set in default configuration.
The dealer that sold the bike and did the install claims they did yet it the fad function seems to show otherwise plan to flash once put back together. Also I currently have the fairing off/disassembled and see nothing that looks like the bt355s in there
I currently have a budget of roughly $1000 for speakers and amp. Lids currently have the rf6x9 in them
Would the dual 800x4 evok have a suitable footprint to fight in the SG fairing? Would it provide any flexibility for expansion in the future?
Currently have the Rf tm400x4 tuned/adjusted by the harlry goons

1000 isn't going to get you a lot in the way of flexibility.
You could get the 800 exox amp, pair of mmats 601cx for the front and mmats 690cx for the rear for right around 800 or so.
Flexibility isn't a priority as I will have a 400w amp sitting I could use if needed would simply be a huge plus as I would assume dual amps would eat up a lot of space
