Ok Ive tried to find something on here about this, but no luck.
long story short..
I have the soundstream pn4.1000d amp with fairing speakers running off the high level inputs.
I recently went with aftermarket head unit and installed speaker lids. I wanted to switch to use the rca inputs but when I did, my amp will not power on. Plugged the high level back in and it works fine. Is there something Im missing? I only way I could get it to work was to run all four speakers out of the amp on just the front outputs of the amp.. I thought with the aftermarket radio I could use the rcas now and front and rear outputs of amp? Any help please. Thx
Well, I owe u a beer for that. Thanks
well this raises a new question... that blue wire says steering wheel input, and the instructions said to hook that up to the little box that will retain my hand controls?

Is there a wire from the head unit that is labeled power antenna?
Any auxiliary power wire will work to power on the amp
Yes there is, and thank u again.
let me throw this at ya while Im at it. Now the protection mode is on, on the amp? What would cause that?
Could be a number of things. Speaker wire shorted to ground.... wrong impedance on speaker output. You mentioned running all 4 speakers on front channels, are you running 2ohm speakers?
Thanks... it was connections. I fixed that, then only the rear channels were playing. That woulda been my next question, but it was already answered without asking. It was the gains and amp settings. Thanks all, I shoulda asked two days ago and saved a lot of head scratching. Keep up the good work....

For curiosities sake, what speakers are you using?
Well I had 6.5 Polks up front, but blew one last year so I threw a Sony xplode speaker in for a quick fix. Kinda upsets me because I think the Sony sounds better and I heard good things about Polk. And Im running some eBay 6x9 speakers in the back. I believe they are Rockville marine grades. Im a budget shopper if ya couldnt tell.
