Compared the 6.5 coax to the GZ Red Baskets. With only the woofer on the cicada powered, the sound quality was alot crisper than the warm sounding red basket. They are good build quality and they do sound good. The only issue is that in order to match the Red Basket they need alot of power. We ran the Red basket at 220W and the Cicada at 500W. The Reds are far more efficient.
Just as I was about to pull the trigger, it appears that Cicada has had a price increase of over $100 a set for the6.5 (non horn) coax and with that being said, I wont be buying them for my lowers and tour pack. I can get hertz sx 165 neos cheaper and the hertz are a proven product.

Come on TG, spend some of that hard earned money and let us know!!!

Where are you seeing the price increase? I bought a set of the non horn coax on Oct 1 and just looked at what I paid. They are still the same price. I got them from GBS. I know a lot of people had 20% off on them around Black Friday

On their website, the page with all the non horn coax speakers states the CX65.4 are $279.99. On the page that gives detail on those cx65.4 the price states $389.99 and my guy says the $389.99 is the going retail now.
I was just at Arizona bike week and the manufacturer was there for cicada audio. While the setup that I purchased was pricie, please show me a product that isnt for a Harley-Davidson. I opted for the 6 1/2 in my front bat wing and 6 x 9s in my saddle bags. I replaced the Rockford Fosgate stage 3 kit with the cicada amplifier and both sets of speakers. Let me just say what a difference! It was night and day. Now ridding 90+ down the freeway I have no loss of quality of sound. They are truly a game changer in book when it comes to motorcycle audio performance.
I installed the CHX 6.5s in the fairing, CHX6.9 in cicada cut in kit in my bag lids, driven by their FLX1400.4 amp. I also added the fosgate PMXHD14 head unit. The speakers are all 2ohm and its is fricken loud and clear. Still working on EQ settings that sound good for my eclectic music taste (megadeath to Eminem, kinda hard to find a happy medium). But overall very happy.
