I have an 07 Electra Glide Classic with no rear speakers. It has an aftermarket radio installed. I’m wondering what exactly I need to wire up rear speakers correctly.
Do you have an amp installed? What does your fairing/front setup consist of?
No amp, just an aftermarket stereo. It has the adapter to plug into the stock wiring and maintain my handlebar controls. I have the two speakers in the fairing and that’s all
And what speakers do you have in the fairing? You really need an amp to get the needed power to be able to hear your music at highway speeds and still be distortion free.
Where were you thinking of adding rear speakers? You gonna buy some pods? or you doing speaker lids or inside bags?

I have Rockford Fosgates and the stereo is 200 watts. I have speaker lids to go it

What are you wanting to gain? More volume? Louder? More bass? Music for passenger?
About 70% plus if your music comes from your fairing. If you don’t have an amp for your fairing speakers, your missing out. There’s no speakers that run off just a stereo effectively. Motorcycle audio is completely different and car audio. Those Rockford fairing speakers are weak as well. Ok speakers, but lack the volume needed for highways speeds.
it will cost you at least $1000 to add rear/lid speakers and you most likely will not get $1000 worth of sound, because physics are against you with speakers playing behind you while cruising down the road.
Tell us exactly what you have and what your looking to gain and what’s your budget.
Honestly, I'd try adding an amp and good speakers up front in your fairing first. That might get you all the sound you're looking for.
As CS said, speakers lids are of for parking lot sound, but most of it is lost at speeds. Not all of it, but definitely something to consider.
What kind of budget are you working with? You could easily get a decent amp and fairing speakers for less than a grand. The stinger/mmats combo is still a pretty good value, especially given the recent SD and GZ quality issues.
