Default Audio install help

Hey everyone, I am new to installing motorcycle audio, but I have done numerous other mods to my 2021 Roadglide with ease. For some reason installing audio makes me nervous, but I bit the bullet and bought a front speaker and amp system. I purchased all Diamond Audio, MICRO84U amp, MSPRO65 mids, MO75T horns and a MSRCA2 harness. I also bought a plug n play remote turn on, power cables for amp and a amp rack. I was told to run the MO75T horns on channel 1&2 and the MSPRO65 on channel 3&4. My question is how do I wire all this up. Power to the amp is easy, the rest confuses me. I am using my stock BOOM 6.5 GTS radio that has been flashed with the Rockford file. Any help would be appreciated.

from the stereo to the amp you will need LOC then 2 RCA Y connectors. That amp may be a bit lite in the loafers and it definitely does not give you any head room. when installing remove the radio it will make life much easier to get the wires run.

Make sure you run main power and ground to the battery. The rest looks like plug and play. Make sure positive and negative are correct from amp to speakers. Make one connection at a time is easy.

Not exactly plug and play but if you follow the manual(s) not terribly difficult to set up. Who sold you the system? They should be prepared to assist you with any questions you might have. Some thoughts:

-the largest hurdles will be 1) installing the amp rack and amp. As Fireball pointed out you'll need to get the outer fairing off and radio out to do that but not a big deal. 2) mounting the horns. What's the plan? Cutting holes in the speaker grills? Again not a huge job but you'll want to mentally walk through this before jumping in with both feet.

-the amp manual doesn't really show a system configuration example exactly like what was described by whoever sold the system but no worries. You're going to use the front channel inputs and set the CONFIG switch to 2CH (to get 4 channel outputs from only 2 channels in). Set the front X-OVER switch to HP and the FREQ dial to 100Hz (probably somewhere around 10 o'clock). Gains (SENS dial) to minimum until it's time to set the gains up. Alternatively, you could try setting the X-OVER to FLAT (the FREQ dial has no use with this setting) just to see how it sounds. Your amp isn't so powerful that you'll blow those mids mids if you don't set up a HPF but maybe try this option later just to hear the difference in sound at the low end.

-wire the speakers as described in the horns manual for "Passive/Active" on page 8. Note that the HPF included with the horns is wired out of phase to both the amp and speaker (not + to + or neg to neg as you would normally think). Also pay attention that the capacitor side of the HPF is wired to face the amp. You don't have to set up a low pass filter (LPF) to the mids as shown but I would (why run frequencies to the mids that are to be handled by the horns?) so go out and by 2 of those .1mH inductors at your local electronics supply shop.

BTW there are a few other ways this system could be set up as well to get more power out of that amp but I'm thinking you'll find this configuration plenty loud as is.

I bought everything from 702 Motoring and have reached out to them a little while ago, waiting for a response. Mounting the amp and all that is easy for me just how to wire everything correct is confusing. I have all the plug n play connectors. They preset everything on the amp before sending. The horns come attached to the speaker grills already and they soldered the crossovers to the horns.

What amp rack did you get? You may try to see if that amp will just fit under the radio. It looks like it should. Ive had several amps and they've all fit that way. Just shove them under long ways and the end will sit on the head light bezel. Its usually snug enough to sit securely there without any movement.

Also note, when running your cables to the battery, the frame is hollow down either side and you can run your cables through that. There is a hole right at the batter compartment and the other end comes out right at the neck. I used rebar wiring and fish it through. Hook the end of the cable, tape it off and pull it through. Spray some pam on it and it makes it easier.

I did the diamond horns in my RGS grills. I've been curious about these "kits" like garage bagger sells that comes with the horns already mounted in grills. I did them myself and had to use a 1/4" spacer to keep the horn terminals from hitting the cone of my 6.5's.

Just listed the items I bought. Also thank you for the tip on running power to the battery
