Default 2012 Ultra shopping advice

I have a 2012 Ultra and currently looking at installing a Aquativ AC MP5 with 4 GZ 6.5 yellow into the fairing and tour pak.

I seem to get stuck in the rain alot, looking for recommendations on AMPs.

Also will i need a dsp or anything else?

Looking for good all around sound, so any setup recommendations are appreciated.

I've run three different amps and been caught in some downpours. No issues that I've seen.

An SD 1200.4 evox would power those speakers just fine. They really sound good with about 250 or so watts to them. DSP isnt needed, but would help in tuning them to get the most out of them.

Also, someone else might can comment, but Im not sure about the fitment of those speakers in the pre rush more bikes...particularly the pods. AT least without some spacers and or mods.

First off, I would recommend not going with the Aquatic. Over priced and not reliable. The Rockford is a very nice HU, but they are pricey. Not sure what your budget is. If you can find a Sony or Kenwood Marine HU, I would go with one of those.

Second, the fairing on your bike is pretty well sealed and usually don't get water in them. But if you are worried, there are some marine amp options.

Third, if you want to run GZ's in the TP pods, your gonna need some June Pods or some big *** adapters. Which will make the speaker stick out more because the extra room needed for the larger speaker and magnet.

So a couple questions before more recommendations: What's your budget? Are set on Aquatic and GZ for speakers? Do you want to use June Pods in tour pack pods? What does your system consist of now?

I'm not set on the HU or speakers, I've read the forums the past few months and the paralysis from analysis lead me to that decision. Right now I'm all stock with the exception of a marine bluetooth adapter I hardwired to the board of the radio. That and an external bluetooth controller, so I can skip songs from the handlebars

I was planning on modifying the tour pods to fit the 6.5. If there is a better option for better looks and quality I'm all for it.

I had the sony single din marine grade with a flip down cover and TP speakers you are very limited on size do you have a passenger bigger pods less room for passenger.

You could do speaker pods in the lowers and have all 4 speakers in the front . You should be able to fit a amp under the fairing or mount in saddlebags .
I would look into putting speakers in the lids and not use TP
Speakers. Good luck

I'm hoping to keep it around 2k, have the amp in the fairing, and reuse the existing speaker locations as much as possible.

Perfect. So I would figure in about $500 for HU, TP adapters and wiring/misc. Amp in fairing, speakers in factory locations. Speakers are weather rated and made for bikes.
1: Cicada setup: CX65.2 in TP, CH65.2 in fairing with their DSP amp DSP150.4D $1588

2: GZ in fairing, CX65.2 in TP, Soundigital 1200.4 PS $1540

3: Mmats pa601cx in fairing, CX65.2 in TP, Soundigital 800.4PS $1270

4: GZ in fairing and TP, Euphoria Expert EX1K $1100

Using the cicada setup you recommended, other than price. Is there any reason to use the DSP150.4 vs a EVOX 1200.4

The Cicada amp comes with a built in DSP.

Historically, the SD 1200.4 EvoX has a very high failure rate. Biggest reason I wouldn't use one and why I recommend the PS (power sports) version. You could go with a SD 1200.2 that seems to have lower failure rates. You will loose "stereo". But that whole debate is for another day.
