Looking for some input from people with firsthand knowledge. Bike is a 2009 Streetglide, currently has Aquatic head unit (dealer installed as replacement not looking to change it out) has hogtunes amp (unsure of size but sits on top of radio) hogtunes 5.25 and hogtunes tweeter pods. Im looking to change out the amp and speakers to 6.5s and change the tweeters in the pod (theyre older and in need of replacement) This is not a show bike, it gets ridden. Im not looking to add pods or bag speakers JUST replace the amp and speakers. Looking to upgrade to something that I can hear better at speed as my commute is an hour each way. Primarily 90s rock/country. Budget is $5-600. Im thinking of using NVX VADM4 or CV B52/54 as amp source but not set on anything yet-just has to all be contained to fairing. Ive built lots of stereo systems on boats and cars so the install isnt a big deal and I can have it tuned. Thanks for the input

When I bought my 2009 Streetglide, I had the same Hogtunes setup.
First off, I would get rid of tweeter pod. You won't need it. Better off running a coax 6.5" instead of mid and tweeter.
Mmats pa601cx would be a great speaker choice. And if you pair them with a JL MX280/4, you will be more than happy. The NVX amps are ok, but they run really hot. The B52 is also ok and would work. The Mmats and JL combo is one of my favorite sounding 2 speaker setups and one of the most reliable. That JL will run forever in all conditions.
Thanks for the input! I had been looking at the Mmats pa601cx already based off of others suggestions I've read on the forum. Was also thinking about the Stinger SPX700X4-if I can find a deal on one. Any issues if I go that route? I'm not really wanting to completely do away with the tweeter pod (since there are holes where it was installed) might just disconnect or find some replacement tweeters to put in it.

The Stinger will work. It's overkill for a set of Mmats. The sound quality of the JL and Mmats is really good.
I removed my tweeter pod and placed some black automotive push bumper fasteners in the holes (I did drill them out a tad for pin to fit) for 2 of them. The other 2 holes are my garage door remote buttons.
