I thought that Stinger info had to be wrong. I hadn't really thought about swapping out the speakers as well, but now I'm intrigued. If I were to get the GZs and move the Hertz to the TP, would you recommend a second SD 400.4 for those as well?

if you are considering getting the gz and putting hertz in TP, get the sd 800.4evox, the stinger is a good amp but doesn't make its rms power till 14.4v, the SD make its rms at 12.6v and it's 132watts.
So this may be a goofy question, but would that 800 be better than (2) 400's bridged? Obviously you recommended it for a reason, it seems to my uneducated thinking I'd be getting less power overall with the 800?
No question is goofy, yes the 800 would give you less wattage than 2 400's bridged. I mentioned the 800 just for easy of installation, and should run those speakers fine.
Hey guys, I've got a 2011 Ultra with a MEX620BT head unit, an Arc Moto 600.4 and Hertz HCX165s. I can't take this one one side audio anymore from this Amp. What's a good replacement these days? I'm not really concerned too much about price, but I'd like to stay under $600 or so.
I admit I'm no audio expert but I'm not sure I follow your issues with your Arc Moto 600.4? I'm running the exact same amp and am powering a pair of GZ 6.5's in the fairing, and a pair of Mmats 6.5's in my TP pods...and I'm plenty happy with it. Yes, the 600.4 is putting out "only" 150 Watts in the 4 - Channels @ 4 Ohms configuration but it works for me. That's more than enough for the Mmats, and sure, there's lots of guys pushing more watts to their GZ's but for my needs, I'm quite content. I'm very rarely, if ever, over 1/2 volume on my GTS head unit.
The power output is fine, but one side of the output keeps cutting out randomly. It is , or at least was when I got mine, a fairly common issue with these amps. Some people are able to throw a zip tie on the connector and that solves the problem. That lasted about 2 years for me.
