"Back in 1974 I went to K-mart with my very hard earned money and bought my first ever under dash Pioneer 8-track with two 6 x 9 speakers for the rear deck" ...

I can remember getting an FM converter for the AM radio in my 1964 Belevedere ... It was 1968 and I was fresh out of high school ... My how times have changed :>)

Do you notice a quality difference with XM app over actual XM? In my truck, and the wife's Acadia, the actual XM sounds a bit better to me. This is why I am debating the XM antennae addition. Well, that and being able to pick up music in the middle of BFE, obviously.

Yes, slight but there is a noticeable difference in my opinion. My wife says she cannot tell a difference.

Technology was amazing back then, right!

I think I remember having some kind of device you could stick in the cassette player that converted to FM, or maybe I was just smoking something!

LOL, yes!

Vinyl always had great sound, and I used to make some great recordings on Maxell HQ Metal cassettes from my vinyl for the best sound out on the road

The good 'ol days...

Yep , I never recorded from the radio , always directly from albums using the same Maxell tapes , then CD's later on . Vinyl is still the warmest sounding media , never bought tapes , just made my own I called "Rock Cut's" they were numbered ... long before " Mix" tapes were a thing .
