Hello,
Has anyone tried the new Infinity Kappa Perfect 900x or 600x speakers?
So, they are bi-ampable like the boom stage 2 speakers. I have been told by a technician from Volunteer audio they would be a good replacement and not have to change amps, although I think the radio will need to be flashed.

They are the only replacement for Boom 2 (direct replacement). Not many dudes on here do direct replacement, so probably wont get much for responses.
No you wouldn't need to flash.
For sound quality and loudness, you are much better off removing all Boom 2 and replace with aftermarket.

Thanks, I am not looking for superior sound quality, just a little better and to NOT blow out speakers anymore in the saddlebags!

Don't lie, you know you want great quality!
I recently replaced a Boom 2 fairing and 5x7 lids and 2 Boom amps with a Precision Power setup: 6.5 fairing, 5x7 lids, amp , wire harness and Boom by-pass plugs. It was a direct replacement. Only had to cut off one set of speaker connectors. 5x7's drop right in the factory baskets. I did the system for a friend who wanted something to hear down the highway with a full face helmet and wouldn't blow. She is way more than happy with the setup. For what it was, I was impressed as well. And the price wasn't all that bad.

You are blowing speakers due to a lack of power. The amp is what helps you gain extra volume. Realistically, your current system probably starts to distort at 3/4 volume. Turning it above 3/4 volume sends distortion to your speaker, and that is what's causing your speakers to blow.
Adding an amp is necessary to be able to enjoy your speakers at highway volume.
Alright, so I bit the bullet and ordered a set of these speakers. Next problem is fitting the 6x9 into the 5x7 spot. American Bagger makes some adapters I can get for $180 but they include modifications. Is there another option that that does not include cutting!?!?!

Options are:
-- get a 5x7 speaker
--Cut the basket out and put AHB adapter
--Cut the basket out and put in Vtwin audio adapter
--Get aftermarket 6x9 lids (speaker sits flat and dropped down into the bag)
--Get another set of factory lids and do a cut in kit

Thanks for the advice!
Lids are out of the budget plus my paint is a custom paint set.
Has anyone used the V-Twin audio speaker adapters? Suggested speakers for them are Kickers!
