which Mmats or Hertz? The speakers are actually manufactured by HATS and are very capable drivers. I really like mine. How do they fit on a pre-Rushmore fairing?
Sorry, was asking about the Biketronics speakers. Are they good?
I had the BT7P1 speaker in my old bike and liked them. Just wondering how do the Biketronics speakers compare to the Hertz or Mmats

Yeah, the BT speakers are what I was talking about. They are made by HATS and sound good to my ear. The only thing I'd be wary of is how they would fit in a pre-Rushmore fairing. In the Rushmore years I think you need to remove the speaker pods and use BT's speaker brackets. Sorry but I can't compare to other speakers other than I run Hertz SV 165 SPL in my lowers and really like them as well. They complement the BT7.1 very well IMO.
Im my opinion the bt7.1 get a little muddy thru the midrange and not the SQ as the mmats have. Hertz have a crisper sound over the mmats and not as warm but have good SQ also. It depends on your set up and what else your running. Fairing only setup, I would run the mmats over the hertz mpx, sx neos, sv's and bt speakers depending on what power you are sending them. Now a little know hertz speaker for the fairing is the cpx and those are a damn good mid range coax that can be crossed at 80 and sound good.
What year bike and what else does your setup have?

travelingypsye........ I will be running the aquatic head unit for sure. I have to see what amp is in my bike right now. Then probably going to put in the Mmats in the fairing. Not sure about the tour pack yet
Biketronics are a bit pricey for me at this point.

Interesting, I found the BT to be a bit bright on their own but the front was better balanced when using the Hertz SVs in the lowers. Still they are pricey and I can't say how they would compare to the Mmats.Originally Posted by travelingypsye

They are bright on the high end but are muddy in the mid range. Again, in my opinion but I am old and my ears aren't the best. Also, it depends on the amp. SD amps are known to be bright in the first place and I would not run one without a dsp. Originally Posted by hamah

Good point. My ears are also past their prime (like the rest of me). That, and the realization things get harder to hear on a running Harley while wearing a helmet, are probably the only things that have kept me from falling off the slippery slope.Originally Posted by travelingypsye
