I'm looking at adding an amp to my 2014 Street Glide Special & have a install question. How do I connect the audio inputs to the factory wiring harness?
It would help if you noted what amp, and what inputs it accepts
Sorry should have provided more info. It's a Soundigital amp, but can only use the high level inputs as the factory head unit doesn't have rca out. Do I need to splice into the harness?

3 ways:
--buy an aftermarket T harness
--Take the wires from front speakers and use the Soundigital high level inputs
--Take the wires from front speakers into a line out converter and then you'll have RCA for amp
You will want to get a T harness... Thats the START of this project however.
Your radio has a HORRIBLE audio curve built in and an amp will enhance the crappy sound. You will need a "line leveler" at the minimum. Bike Tronics sells an "ok" one. Get ahold of NVS audio or Vol Audio. (I prefer NVS but both are good). They will set you up with everything and explain why you need it. Plug and play everything. And yes... get radio flashed. (@ Harley or both above companies can help)
What speakers?

If you get the head unit flashed, you wont need a line leveler. As far as a line leveler goes, it is nothing more than a external hpf and manual gain control. There is no difference from the biketronix one and one you can get from someone else. Get the HU flashed with either an 8/2 flash or a RF flash. Once you get the unit flashed, you can use the front speaker outputs to conect to your amp using this and a set of rca cables:
A HD flash will not get rid of the horrible DSP curve. HD flashes assuming you have one of their OEM options. 2/4 speakers. Amp (boom) RF etc... The curve remains.
No, yes you can get a RF flash or TechnoResearch etc... that will get very close to a flat curve. Base don't he OPs question I assume they will not go this deep. Now, will they be using a DSP (best option by far) so the line leveler is an alternative. If you flash unit as if have amp then you get about a 2v output etc... again, the OP prob will not go this deep. Ons are high they over old the inout of the mapped the audio will sound bad, clip, protect, etc...
