I have the wired headset that came with my bike. I like having the speakers and mic in the helmet, but those speakers are awful. No bass response at all and very tinny. I've had better sound out of $10 headphones. Has anyone found a way to put better speakers on the HD wired headset? I don't really want to drop the coin on the wireless setup and I don't want to lose the functionality of the system, but it would be nice to have good sound in the helmet.

I used Edsets who are no longer in business. They sounded reasonably good and much better than the stock HD headsets that were delivered with the bike. These headsets also had a 3.5mm stereo jack that I would use to plug my PlugUp custom earbuds or SPlugs into (which not only sounded awesome but provided excellent protection against noise on long road trips. I still have them kicking around somewhere). PM if you're interested.
J&M is interesting. I've never seen that product before. Kind of expensive at about $300 per helmet with the Harley 7 pin cord added on, but if they sound good, might be worth a try. I wonder if better speakers could just be wired into the Harley headset?

I have a set of J&M speakers that I took out of my helmet. Seems to me that you could just cut the Harley headset speakers and replace with these.
Here is a suggestion - find and old headset (this way you are not affecting your new ones. Cut the speakers and attach to me J&M speakers. I am willing to give them to you if you want to try this.
Sierra looks like a great site. Never seen that before either. The only thing stopping me is the fact that itty bitty tiny wires are so hard to work with. Particularly with my big fat fingers.
It's not that hard to cut and wire J&M speakers into another headset. I did it with my and my wife's Sena SMH10. You do need to have a pretty good hand with a low-temp soldering iron, though.
