I did the send the signal anyways thing with them and if it doesn't work its on me (I knew it worked)... first guy said it couldn't be sent to my radio because their system didn't show it would work... magically the next guy was able to and it was all good. Had to do this dance the last two times, but I got to say this last time was by far more of a pain... and I was trying to give them money??? The music programming was not an issue, its that add on package that is the issue getting them to just do it, and take my money funny part about it was I started the process by adding the subscription for the bike via online myself, and it wouldn't give me the option to do the add on for a Harley, so I got on the chat thing and was not getting anywhere with that person/robot?, so I just called and started in. I forgot I had the window open for the chat while I was talking to them on the phone... at almost the same time that the guy on the phone said Ok I'll send a updated/refresh signal to the radio, in the chat window it said "I think I found a way to do it"....

Over the years even on here I seen threads where others had the same issue initially getting that add on package added, and with the experience I had had with them in the past, I was expecting it again, and knew I just had to push...

The add-on will work and 2014 and newer bikes with the factory Boom GT 6.5 or the Boom GTS (because those have the display for it), if the HD SiriusXM module is installed. It will not work in the Boom 4.3, due to the lack of the display, same for older bikes with factory head units.
It will work with either of the two HD SiriusXM modules that are used in the GT6.5 or the GTS... the GT6.5's kit is HD #76000351 and it comes with the SiriusXM module HD part #76000233, and the GTS's kit is HD #76000842 and it comes with SiriusXM module HD part #76000818. It seems like such an easy "matrix" to add to their system for the call center's screens for their operators... because if its not on their screens they don't think it exist...

I have had the add-on package on my original GT 6.5 with the original module for it, then on the GTS with the old module, that I moved over to the GTS when I upgraded the head unit, and now on the GTS with the newer module in the new bike. Its not the "end all, be all" add-on package by the way, but I like it being integrated and it works for me (phone is in a pocket), so I know it works and it just shouldn't be so much work to get it to be added...
Just went through the same thing with them about 4 months ago. XM raid weather and traffic was no available on Harleys. Told them it was available on my 2014 - and even back then, they said it wasn't.

I told the guy, the price was just $1,99 per month - just send the signal. He did and it had worked fine since then. BTW, I only added weather since my google maps does a great job with the traffic.

Does it show weather for the route you are traveling? Never had weather for any NAV system, so no idea how it works.

By the way, got mine installed yesterday, I posted pics of the install in the "what did you do to your bagger" forum. Gave me zero hassles for getting the same 2. Yr, 4.99 mo rate. I put the antenna on the dash, inside the windshield. Got 2 out of 3 bars sitting in my garage.

For those planning on doing this. Get a set of SMALL torx socket, or similar. The screws HD uses are smaller than the T-10 I had.

Once you plot your trip, you simply go to the weather - such will overlay onto your map.

I have the subscription at $3.00 per month ($4.11 with tax and fees) but find the app works just fine. I am going to upgrade my amp and speakers. Have the Soundstream head unit with XM module) When I do I will probably cancel my subscription on the bike and just use the app.

Forgive me for bringing up an older thread but the weather sucks (minus 5 degrees) and I have a question one of you more technical gurus than me.
I have a 2015 Ultra limited with the stock Boom Box radio. I also have a subscription to XM for my car and the XM App on my iPhone. Is there a simple way to play the XM App from my phone to the speakers?

(currently, I can, obviously, play AM/FM and I have a music thumb drive plugged in to the pig tail USB in the fairing slot)

Since my iPhone is Blue-toothed to the BoomBox for phone calls, can I also play the XM from my iPhone through the BoomBox speakers?
(it's too cold to play with the cycle now but I'm wondering if it will work. I don't care about switching stations while riding just playing through the speakers.

Thanks (from a technical boob)....lol

If you plug your phone into the boom box, via the USB connection in the phone cubby, open the xm app on your phone. The boom will pick up your xm from there. Its a little awkward IIRC and, on my bike anyway, the volume was definitely lower compared to over the air radio, much less using my xm receiver. In my opinion, the XM receiver add on was well worth the cash.

It MIGHT play over bluetooth, but mine never seemed to work.

We have a sub for our car, truck, and my bike. Only pay $5.00 a month for each one. Those are yearly renewable plans by the way.

Good to know that they (XM) discount additional subscriptions. I was told, a few years ago< that it wasn't the case. Was told I needed to pay the FULL subscription price for additional vehicles. Having said that though....I assume that it would also require buying and installing am XM receiver "box" in the fairing.

Once the weather warms up (into the balmy 30's...lol) I'll try the blue-tooth direct method first. "We" finally changed our phone service to unlimited so I have more options since data usage won't be an issue.

Thanks

The case with XM, is ALWAYS the same, but you have o threaten to cancel all subscriptions. When I added my bike I told them the only way I would add it was ifI got the same $5 rate. They said no problem. That was about 7 months ago, no issues. The BIG advantage of having the built in receiver, is it displays the song data, and artist on the boom screen, and the hand controls allow me to change channels, adjust volume.

I get what you're saying......LOL...every year XM sends me an "invoice" for around $350/yr. So I call and tell them I will ONLY pay what I paid last year (typically around $90/yr). After a bit of back and forth they say "OK".......Sounds like it's the same to get an additional vehicle added.

One other thing.....I saw a video that mentioned that IF you are playing music FROM your phone via Blue-tooth......the phone WILL NOT CHARGE at the same time if plugged in )and will probably disconnect the Blue-tooth.

Again, I'll need to check all this stuff out myself once the temps come up a bit.
