Techno Research is still going strong. I read the other day on another forum where a guy called them in Michigan, although I haven't verified it for myself, and said that they had stopped selling their "pay-per-bike" version of Centurion Super Pro. It may explain why the price had jumped from $650 (pay-per-bike) in 2021 to $1500 this year, but he never did confirm that the $1500 version could be used on as many different bikes as wanted without any additional cost.
The new CVO Roadglide/Streetglides do not support Android Auto. When I questioned H-D about this, this is the reply I got
"All Apple CarPlay projection services from the riders device may be applied through the display. Android Auto projection services are not available due to Google exiting Android Auto for motorcycle delivery, but Android users may stream music and place/receive calls through the system. Visit your local H-D dealer for additional details and compatibility requirements."
It seems that Google has made this decision, not H-D.
On the 2023 CVO's I can guess that reasons were due to Google not "working" with HD to ensure the projection from AA into the new HU would be formatted/displayed properly. It may also be that HD was not willing to expend any additional resources to addressing whatever was going on with the projection issues. In the early release videos there was clearly an AA icon in the new CVO display panel, which is now an empty slot. I had posted up pictures of that some time ago (below pic is from one early release video). HD then defaulted to the typical IT response, "X isn't supported by third party vendor, not our problem, wah wah".
As others have posted, I've not had any issues with my 2020 FLHXS and AA, and used with the MA1 wireless dongle. However, I am fearful of updating the software/firmware in case HD decides to disable it universally, but doubt that will happen. I have heard there are numerous problems with the new HU, lag, display issues, etc. Nevermind the "Hey your kickstand is down, let me turn the bike off for you, wait you are riding?"
I really don't think it's going to make it to the normal baggers in 2024.
AA works great on my ‘21 Ultra Limited and has worked on all of my touring bikes since MY2019.
HD has recently released 2024 bikes that will have no changes other than color. In speaking with my dealer the touring line will be released January 24, 2024, indicating changes to the touring line up. I think the new touring line up for 2024 will include the new 12” screen from the 2023 CVO line up, but will not include the suspension or VVT motor.
I’m not in the market to trade, but not having Android Audio could be a deal breaker for me. I do mostly interstate and longer rides and the AA platform is much more accurate and user friendly than the HD navigation.
I have just got a 2024 Road Glide and have not been successful in getting AA to work on the Skyline OS . Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Also the maps on then Nav system do not seem to expand or contract... Ie: no + or - adjustment ... Or am I just missing ut? 🤔🙄
