Default Stinger amp bridging help

OK I have read and reserarched this for 2 hrs and I am either too dumb or just do not get what I am reading.

I have a 2022 RGS with factory head unit 6 mos or so ago I added a SPX700X4 Stinger amp and GZ 6" Neo Yellow baskets to the fairing. Its sounds OK but its never blown me away.

Part II of this was to add GZ Yellow baskets 6x9's to the bags. I have ran the wiring and originally intended on running a sperate amp but most of you have recommended not doing so, so I do listen.

That brings me to today. I did not bridge the fairing speakers because I could not figure out how to to it.
If I connect RR+ and RL- for the right and then FR+ and FL- for the left, this is bridging the fronts, correct?
How can I or even should I also bridge the rear?
Do I need to get the 'y' adapter to pull the rear channel out of the radio (yes I had it flashed already) or can I just switch to 4 channel?

Thanks a million in advance!

TH

I believe you have to flash the factory unit to know you are adding non HD amps or run a DSP to change the signal wave that is all muddy coming from the stock unit. Do some reading the answers are here , I'm sure some audiophile will chime in.

You are correct on how to bridge that amp. When you bridge a 4 channel amp, you only get 2 channels though. There is no bridging the fronts and then the rears...it's just bridging. I would bridge that amp and put some more power to those GZ's and see what you think before you add the 6x9's. Start around 200 and see what you think.

You can leave input set in 2 CH mode if you like and only use the front inputs from the radio or you can switch it to 4 channel and add the rears to be able to fade. Either way if you don't change or add another amp....you will only be putting 125 to each speaker.

Do you know what flash you have?

125 x 4 @ 4 ohm Stereo
175 x 4 @ 2 ohm Stereo
350 x 2 @ 4 ohm Bridged

OK so do I just add the rears to the front speaker outputs? ie splice them together? This is where I get lost.

I rented the kit to flash myself from American Hard Bagger and flashed to whatever they recommended knowing I would add the rear speakers later. I have it all written down somewhere but I can not longer find it.

Also I have no issues adding another amp in the bag. I ran speaker and signal wires all the way back although fo rthe life of me I can not find the rear channel outputs in the fairing.

OK...first....you can leave your amp set at 2CH if you do not care about fade. If you do, then you will need to add the rear radio outputs to the input of the amp and change it to 4CH mode. Those wires are below the radio and just dead end with a connector.

If you are definitely adding the rears, you have one option since they are 4 ohm speakers. You cannot bridge the amp and you will need to use all 4 channels and give them 125 each. If you parallel them then you will only be putting 87.5 to each of them.

You can't double bridge the amp.

I would also confirm that you flashed the Rockford flash and not the 8/2 flash. 8/2 flash is flat and I would not use that without a DSP.

And no reason to put an amp in a bag. Plenty of room under the fairing to run 4 or 6 or even 8 speakers

The Stinger is a great 4 channel amp, depending on the speakers you use. Unfortunately the Ground Zero is going to need more watts than the 4 x 125 watts the Stinger puts out.
That being said, I would bridge that amp to get 2 x 350 watts. If you choose to bridge that amp, you will take it from a 4 channel amp to just a 2 channel amp.
You will then be able to run 2 x 4 ohm speakers off that amp. You could bridge the Stinger, dial the gain back to 200 watts to just run those GZ coax. That would get you rocking pretty good. I still run the GZ coax in my fairing.
If you decide to add another set of speakers in the future, I would plan on adding another amp to your system. As others have mentioned, I would just mount the second amp in the fairing, lots of room in the fairing.

Yes I will probably sell it if anyone is interested. It only has a few hours play time thru it and I am pretty sure I even have the original box and data sheet from Stinger.
