I would like to retain my android phone for music. Currently I have Spotify, but. Spotify is not allowed to play music I like. IE: Neil Young, and others. Suggestions please?

You may have to switch to a thumb drive. I have over 1200 songs on a thumb drive
I use Pandora(premium) so I have no commercials, unlimited skips and if I don't have service it will automatically switch to offline music, which are channels/artist that I have downloaded. You could also try Iheart radio or download a bunch of music to a thumb drive.

I like thumb drive cause starts instantly and no screwing around, at least on my year. Could then put what ever artist you want on it.
I do both stream and drive. Drive works when no cell signal better.

Yes, I pay for the Pandora Premium. I don't know what the differences between the pay Spotify and Pandora as I've never used Spotify. I use to get Pandora Premium as part of my phone plan with ATT but I dropped them a few years ago. So, I had to pay for the Premium if I wanted to keep using it like I had been; which I was happy with my usage/service of the app.
