Quick history, I have a 2019 FLHX with GTS radio, Hogtunes REV225 amp and Hogtunes 462F fairing speakers. The volume and sound quality are fine for me but my wife hates it. All she hears are the highs and she asks me to turn it off. This setup didn't require a reflash but I'm wondering if it would help. Perhaps a line leveler? Different speakers? Thanks in advance for your help.

Those systems are designed to be PLP using the high level input. Reducing the input signal via a lineleveler will decrease the output.
I would say go into the audio settings on the HU and decrease the treble setting to help your wife's sensitive ears to the upper frequencies.
Thanks Babyboy. Prompts another couple of questions. With a PNP amp the amp is tuned to work with the stock HD equalizer curve so changing that curve would not benefit me? Would 4 ohm speakers warm up the sound or would the underpowered amp not be able to drive the speakers?

I would double check all your connections, especially your positive and negative connections on speakers. You may have one speaker out of phase (positive and negative on wrong terminals) and causing the bad sound. I would even try switching them around if they look correct. Harley is notorious for having them backwards. Or you can buy this slick little tool to check and you don't have to disconnect anything to check.
I bring this up because I installed a similar system on a bike and it had a lot of midbass and not a bunch of highs. I actually had to turn the bass down some.

I see that the tool uses a cd to play the test tone, is there another way to play the tone? No cd player.
Speakers are in phase. I think my problem is just the limitations of the Hogtunes equipment.
Thinking about a new amp and higher quality fairing speakers. Also wondering if I will get a real benefit adding lid speakers. I understand that I as the driver won't hear them but will my passenger be able to hear them? Or am I better off spending the money on even better fairing speakers? Thanks and happy new year!

You would be better off to spend money on fairing speakers and amp. Adding lid speakers will cost you anywhere from $1000-1500 to do a good set of 6x9 and have enough power.
