I would always run everything matched.
The resistors weren't included? What made you decide you needed 200watt resistors? You are referring to the resistor for tweeter attenuation? Manual shows 4 ohm 10 watt.
The installation instructions for my Cicada speakers suggest that I add resistors.
So I ordered two 200 Watt 4 Ohm 2R resistors.
Why I chose them I don't know.
Amazon sent me one 200 Watt 4 Ohm 2R resistor and one 200 Watt 4 Ohm RX24 resistor.
Can I still use these or should I send one back and use a matched pair?
My system Soundstream HDHU.14+ with a SoundDigital 800.4 EVO amp bridged and two CH65.4 coax horn speakers for my left & right channels.
The resistors that Cicada are mentioning in the installation instructions should have came with the speakers.
The resistors are only used as an attenuator to soften the highs on the horn tweeter IF needed.
If you want a set the OEM resistors shoot me a PM and I will send you a set.
I have a bag of them on the bench as I don't use them on installs and soften the frequencies via DSP.
Thanks for the info. I still don't see where it shows 10watt. I ordered the 200watt because of the amps power.
The resistor rating is how much power the it can dissipate without overheating. A 4 ohm resistor in series with the speaker will only dissipate a few watts at full volume.
Just a note on the big aluminum power resistors. They have to be mounted to a heatsink to use them at their rated power. The resistors you have will work but I'm leery of components from Amazon. You never know what kind of quality you get and they cost too much.
