Default Speaker upgrade

On a 13 Ultra, I'm running a stinger 700x4 with Hertz sx165 neo in the fairing and sx690 in my lids, my question is, I have a new set of polk mm652, can I run them in my lowers parallel or should I get another set of hertz foe there.

The fairing and the lowers will require different crossover points and power requirements.

My suggestion would be to put the Polk in the fairing and the SX in the lowers as the SX have a higher db than the polk.

Polk off of channel 1 and the SX off of channel 2. Adjust crossover and gain to the weaker of the 2 speakers which will screw your left to right stereo up.

If you want to keep your your left to right stereo return the Polk and get another set of SX

Ok, so if I buy another set of sx, should I be running them parallel?

I'm not as well versed as others in this forum, but here is what I did on my '15 Ultra Low:

I ran PRV 6.5's in the Tourpak pods powered by SD 800.4 bridged. Hertz SV 165 NEO's in the fairing and lowers powered by a 2nd SD 800.4. If your sticking with 1 amp only, then you really have no choice but to wire the fairing and lowers in parallel.

You will have to run 2 speakers in parallel unless you add another amp

I appreciate your time and advice brother, I'm fairly new at the audio thing and thought I had a decent setup with all fosgate amp and speakers until I went with the cobra tru duals and now I can't hear any of my radio at highway speeds, but I think for now I'll order another set of hertz for the lowers and maybe later add another amp. Thanks again for taking the time to respond.

I added another amp to run the rear 6x9s, and put the hertz sx in the lower pods, just wondering if maybe the hertz sv would be better in the fairing or another set of sx? Unless maybe a different brand would give a little less highs.

What other amp did you buy? Is it purchased? Slow down and take some advice here before spending dough.

From personal experience, your comment about "less highs" - I totally understand - the SX Neo's are super bright. The polks will be a much warmer time in the fairing, although a set of SX NEO SV165 would take care of those highs because it essentially deletes the tweeter, and will play louder than the polks. Polks tap out around 150w - SV will easily take 180-200.

With that said, clearly you like your Hertz audio...otherwise I would recommend something a little warmer for the fairing.

I already had the fosgate 400 from before, I'm not set on another pair of hertz, so any suggestion would be great. Thanks for taking the time to help

I have been chasing the "warmer" sound from the fairing for the last 2yrs. The consensus on this site is "loud at hwy speeds" so the warm and that don't really go together. The GZ coax was definitely the "warmest" speaker I found, but at high power, the tweeter would get extremely bright.

My newest fairing speaker is the DD Audio AW6.5 - I've giving them about 175w with a pair of Euphoria ET5 tweeters and the AW's drone out the tweeters. They are definitely warm, and loud (for my ears). Will definitely be keeping them in the fairing.
