Speaker specs
I’ve got a 2005 Uktra Classic. I just use the fairing speakers.
I just replaced my head unit with a Rockford Fosgate PMX-HD9813. The plug and play radio. I like it, but it isn’t pushing the Boom! audio 8pm speakers that I have.
im trying to decide if I need to get an amp, or just different speakers.
im thinking a better pair of fairing speakers should be all I need.
This RF head unit should be PLENTY loud enough, but with these Boom! Audio speakers it’s barely loud enough to hear at speed.
the radio was expensive. I don’t have much left in my budget.
can anyone suggest a pair of speakers that will mount in my batwinf fairing and make plenty of volume and clarity?
there has gotta be something that is $300 or less that will be what I need.
thanks in advance for your help

I take it that the head unit will produce considerably more sound and volume from
these 200w 2ohm speakers than it does from a 50 or 75W 8ohm speaker….. right?

got a pair ordered and on the way. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the help
so there is room for amplification to really get the most from those speakers.
what’s a decent AFFORDABLE amplifier that can push about 130 W per channel that will fit inside the fairing.
any suggestions?
thanks again
first of all make sure that you save the RCA output adapter that came with that Fosgate radio ,,,,,,
then when you are ready ,,, I would install this JMC ROKKER amp ,,,,,, https://jmcorp.com/JMC-ROKKER-400w-4...de_p_1450.html
when you install the amp, also add these rear trunk pod ROKKER speakers ,,, https://jmcorp.com/JMC-ROKKER-XT-525...tra_p_205.html

Why do you think the RF head unit should be plenty loud?
Just speakers aren't going to make the difference you may be looking for.
