Apple Car Play on 2023 Road Glide Limited
Only things I can think of, is verify the bikes USB cable is still connected good to the back of the head unit.... when your iPhone is plugged in to the bikes USB, does it connect to the head unit and charge?
What USB cable are you using to your iPhone? I would use an Apple cord to test with.
What headset are you using? Not all headsets are CarPlay compatible, not even all HD headsets. HD's half helmet ones for example, some have had issues using them and getting CarPlay to work, and even on HD's website is says "not CarPlay compatible"... your bike new came with 1 "premium" headset that is CarPlay compatible. I would use the ones that came with your bike, if the PO left them in the bike, to test with.
I have a '23 RGL, and on it CarPlay works as good as CarPlay works, it is no different than it is in my GMC truck... so yours should be working too.

IF he gets CarPlay working like it is supposed to, he could add the wireless CarPlay module too and continue using a headset. Depends on what his preference is. I am just saying this so the OP understands that this is not WHIM (not part of wireless headsets), that this is wireless CarPlay, and it's a different animal.

The number one reason why CarPlay does not work with the BOOM GTS is pairing confusion. To work around this, unpair the Bluetooth connection between the helmet and the phone, you don't need it, you can do everything through the infotainment system AND, when using the BOOM, you can do it all with the handlebar controls. If the phone and helmet are paired, the BT connections get confused, and the infotainment system is not properly paired with the helmet. It is a tricky connection, CarPlay (on the phone) needs to know there is a microphone available to the infotainment system. The mic can only be connected to one source at a time, so if it is connected directly to the phone, the mic won't be available to the infotainment system and CarPlay will not accept the infotainment system as a complete solution, so it won't work.
There are some other issues: for example, if you are using an iPhone that uses lightning cables, for best results, use genuine Apple cables. Knockoffs sometimes depend on the orientation of the lightning plug. Also, your headset (whether integrated in your helmet from the factory, or added on, should be, for best results, a genuine Sena, which includes the HD branded ones) again, knockoffs may provide inconsistent results,
