Default Latest Skyline Update

I completed the update yesterday following the instructions. It went very smoothly with not stalls or issues. One note is the pitch and tone of the stereo is different now. It seems to have less bass and depth. Almost a hollowness in the sound. I know the amp had an update in the package, but not sure if it effected the onboard DSP( Equalizer). Has anyone else noticed this on there stereo after the update was completed.

I now think it was the source audio that was causing the hollow sound. I have since changed the source and tried the stock EQ settings and I stand corrected. I think the update improved the audio substantially. Not sure if it’s just wishful thinking but the sound is a lot clearer than previous to the upgrade.

Prior to the update, I played a heavy bass track with the EQ in Harley Signature setting. The result was heavy distortion at volume over 1/3 from the bottom. That same track at 3/4 from bottom is now crisper, clearer with great bass response.

This is just my experience and we all know sound can be subjective to different individuals. I am very pleased with this latest update.

What was your initial source and what did you change to? I'm not sure from your post if you also changed EQ settings or not. I haven't done the update yet so unfortunately can't add a data point for you.

Original source was a radio station. My original EQ setting was custom.

I've heard the new update really helped the audio. G

Thanks for posting. I have a 2024 CVO coming next weekend after he gets update. Sounds like I better take a listen and probably have to re-tune.

Just curious about the setup on the 24 CVO, did you use an amp piggybacked to the factory amp or go a different route? You mentioned "re-tune" so I assume something already installed besides stock.

Yeah I've done 2 set ups in the bike so far. I used the NVS piggyback setup (ARC PSM Pro).
First setup was a SD 800.4 running Audio Dynamics 3000 series (2 ohm) in the fairing and lids.
Once an amp rack came out, I switched it all up. Curlys amp rack (Street Glide) with a Cicada BDA 2000.4, Cicada CH in fairing and Cicada CHX in lids.

Here's what the factory EQ looked like with everything flat:

Always wondered what that curve looked like, hadn't seen it posted anywhere else. The good old Harley built in boost.

I've read good things about the AD speakers but have never heard them in person. How do they compare to the cicadas or other "common" bike speakers?

They are a good speakers. Just have to be careful on power and crossover point. They will pop easy. But cross them at 120-140hz and they sound great.
As compared to Cicada CH's, I like the Cicada better. They play lower. But, they should sound better for $200 more a pair.

I did the same update today and it’s made a massive difference. This thing is now LOUD! Sounds perfect for me now. Just for information, I tried update via MacBook and it failed in second update of USB 2. Reformatted on Chromebook and it worked smoothly.
