Default MP3 plus Android Auto

2022 Tri Glide Ultra

My old configuration:
Thumb drive plugged into USB port for MP3 playlist
Phone mounted to wireless charger cradle, to operate Waze GPS

I recently realized that the bike has Android Auto, so I can bring waze to the bike screen and actually see it on a sunny day, but in doing so that uses my USB port for the phone.

Ideally I'd like:
1) Android Auto for Waze GPS
2) my own MP3 playlist from thumb drive (or from phone, if it's set-and-forget)

Bonus:
Do this wirelessly with an added dongle.

And help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance

Welcome - hope you are enjoying the bike.

Purchase a USB splitter - mine came from Amazon - cost $5.00

Put the spitter in the cubby. Attach your wireless dongle for the AA. Also, plug the flash drive (music) into the other.

By doing this, you will have wireless AA, music from your flash drive - and you can put your phone in your trunk.

Let me know if you need help.

This was my most recent attempt, to the letter. Seemed to work fine for about an hour, then the data across the splitter because very intermittent... I think it was only rated for power, not data. I have a small unpowered USB hub arriving tomorrow that I'll try next.

That doesn't seem helpful

Sorry - not sure why you can't get the image. This is from Amazon for $5.99. Go in and search for USB splitter

Sorry, thought you were trying to be funny... Telling me I needed (among other things) "....TV,PC,Laptop,MacBook,Keyboard,PS4,PS5"

Then I got snarky... Sorry... Ha Ha...

Here is what's arriving today, about the same cost:

If this doesn't work, I'll use your recommendation... I already found it, and it's in my shopping cart... Thank you!

The one you ordered will work - but I think you will find it a bit more cumbersome. It's a bit larger and has to fit.

The one I suggested is, in my opinion, more flexible.

You shared that you have a TriGlide - nice trike. There are some other things you might find interesting here.
Example - are you connecting to your wired headsets or, have you moved to wireless?

Lots of experience here - so ask away. Plus, if you have some great info to share, please do. This is how we all learn.

Arrived, and works so far. But the other splitter I had worked for about an hour... We'll see.
This fits if I take out the padding in the data pocket. Lots of room to spare, AND it has two more USB ports in case I ever need them.

I'll keep the info on the one you suggested if I ever change my mind.

I don't use a headset. I play my music loud to blast over my pipes. If I did use a headset, my queen might try to talk my ear off, and that defeats the purpose of riding... LOL

This is a photo from about a year ago. It's changed a lot since then....

Nice looking trike.

Glad it worked for you. I was able to leave my padding in with the splitter I used.

Is your phone now connected wirelessly - and you can see WAZE on the screen? Where is the phone?
