I have a Zumo 550 that was replaced by Garmin about two years ago as the screen on my previous Zumo died.
As a GPS, it works perfectly. I use a 4 GB card for map upgrades.
The problem I have is with the MP3 player. I have two file folders on the card. One is the Garmin maps and the other is about 500 songs.
When I play songs, usually anywhere from 3-10 songs will play and then the unit will shut itself off. I press the power button to restart it and if I try and play music it will immediately shut off. If I wait a few days and try all this again, it will play a few songs, shut off and when I turn it back on, the GPS will work fine unless I try to play music.
I've pulled the battery, I've done a master reset, I wiped the card and reinstalled the maps and music and I checked to make sure each song is in mp3 format.
Garmin has told me to do all the things I did, listed above.
My Zumo was doing some what of the same thing.....I took the "send us your Zumo plus $170 bucks and we send you a new one." option. I have the 660 though. My Zumo was 4 years old so a new one fopr the bucks sounded god to me....plus lifetime maps.
