I see a lot of post on here for 4 or more speakers but I'm sticking with 2. I have a 2008 Street glide and I'm replacing my Hawg Wired system that I've had over 18 years. I now have a Sony DSX-M80 head unit and a Diamond Audio MICRO82U (two channel, 150W X 2 @ 4ohm, 250W X 2ohm) amp. I'm only putting in two speakers in the fairing only. Any suggestions on what speakers to get for my setup? I'm looking for the best possible sound and loudness I can get for riding conditions. I really don't care much how it sounds in the parking lot. My budget is less than $400.00. I've been looking at the Ground Zero GZCF 6.5XSPL, Mmats PA601cx, and the Hertz SX 165 NEO which are all 4ohm speakers. Should I be looking for 2ohm speakers? Which is better for my setup, or should I be looking at something else? Thanks for your help!
I will second the MMats recommendation. I have an '09 police EG that had no radio so I installed a Sony MEX-M71BT head unit, MMats MD4110 amp and the PA601cx speakers. It was pretty loud and had decent sound quality too. I don't have a feel for the HogTunes tweeter so someone else can chime in. If you do decide to keep them you could always go with the PA601 MMats that don't have a built in tweeter and use in conjunction with the HogTunes.

@cshocker knows a **** ton more about this stuff than I do. All I can say is I had the 6.5 GZ YB in a fairing, SD 800.4 Evox Amp, a fellow member here set this system up for me. All I can say it was peel your skin off volume, with award winning clarity. For me, I was extremely impressed, as many around me were as well.

no doubt those gzs will shine but need the amp and watts to do it. From what the op expressed Id go with mmats hands down unless he wants to up his amp game.
