Default Rockford Stage 3 speakers vs. Everyone Else

I have Stage 2 setup now with my bike that it came with. I have RF 500 watt amp. I have some HD points and HD Visa rewards that are burning a hole in my pocket. I am considering upgrading the speakers to Stage 3 for those days when I ride with my open face helmet. Mostly, I ride with full face and use Cardo for music.

I do not want to replace the amp. I am totally happy with this one and I am not looking for a full system overhaul. But, before I make a visit to my friendly HD dealer to acquire those Stage 3 speakers, I was wondering if there is anything else on the market that is 2ohm plug and play that is better than those Stage 3 Rockfords. I want it to be easy swap to my existing setup. Any suggestions? Thanks!

As i understand it the rear speakers on stage 2 are 5x7, the stage 3 areca true 6x9. The whole stage 3 system is very impressive. I actually did not believe it the first time i heard one. The issue, as i see it, is will the 6x9 fit the lid. I think that it might. When i go back to work, ( at my local dealer) i will inquire.

Thanks marcodarq. I am pretty sure it’s direct drop into the lid.

Well, I went ahead and got the Stage 3 fairing speakers. The guy at the counter had to hate me because I showed up with all the gift cards and HD points on my phone app lol. It took at of 10 minutes to install the new speakers. I made the changes in the infocenter and switched the settings to Stage 3 for the fronts. I have to say, I am impressed! Granted, it's in the closed garage but it is considerable improvement to Stage 3.

I am definitely upgrading the saddle bag speakers next. I put Stage 2 on ebay, so hopefully I can recoup some money.

The Cicada CXX series are a GREAT replacements for the boom audio speakers.
There is a CXX57.2 which will fit in the saddle bag lids but you have to remove the plastic basket in the lid as the Cicadas have a bigger magnet structure and adjustable crossover settings for different wiring configuration.
