What about shorty antennaes? Is radio reception altered much. Not worried about cb radio as I only use it in group ride and we stay in eyesight of each other.

I have to take my wip antennas off or bend them forward every time i tuck her in for the night.
Many times i left with no antennas and radio played still. Bought shorties to fix that issue and one vibrated off after a week......back to wips.
My 19 Limited plays fine with no antennas at all, the wips, and the shorties played fine as well.
Moved to bluetoothing spotify......digital sounds so much clearer and powerful than FM.
Last bike I cut it down myself to about 12-14", suffered a little but here in the west your either in town with reception or your not.
The RG I used a cheap flex antennae from wallyworld, again doesn't make a difference in town. On the road it may but am streaming or using XM so no harm.
You can also take the antenna off and run it under your fender and seat. I did this not long after buying my bike and didn't notice much difference. Of course I dont listen to fm much now since upgrading my audio. I use a thumb drive mostly, sometimes my phone music or streaming

I went to shorttys myself. I have not noticed any loss of FM. I dont listen to it often just a NFL game mostly. Here in seattle most morning and drive home FM stations are mostly talk and commercials. I stream or USB stick.
