Has anyone mounted speakers in their Road Glide FLTR fairing glove boxes. It's just useless space for me. I rarely use them. I think it would be a great place to mount some extra sound. Anybody?
I use the hell out of my glove boxes, but I would certainly give the space up for speakers if someone had a ready made system that could dropped inside there.
I've seen a couple of article in some mags, but those are all hand laid custom mods...
2 6.5 inch Hertz Hi-energy speakers on inner fairing had to cut glove boxes for clearance... will fab up the bottoms later after changing 6.5 speakers to 6x9 on innner fairing... will reduce size of glove box but at least there will still be an ability to hold something...
8 speaker system
2 6.5 inner fairing
2 on top of radio BA SA746
2 6.5 in the factory oem location replacing stock 5.25
2 6x9 in bags
Check out the video http://youtu.be/TtammuKhC3k?hd=1
6x9 & 6.5 are all Hertz Hi-energy speakers
Amp Alpine PDX 4.100 (for sale)
Upgrading to 6 channel amp and 6x9 speakers on inner fairing and in the top of the lids ----- Yeah I know 10 speakers 1 Amp
What amp are you 'upgrading' to ? Did you consider running another PDX ?? That's what I do. I run 2 PDX 4.150's , to power 8 speakers, ( 4 of the 6X9's, 2 of the 6.5's, and 2 5.25's).
Video sounds good. But,...I wanna hear some ear bleeding music on that system !!
