Radio will not power on
So far my diagnostics have been:
Check the fuses
Check radio connections
Check power at radio connectors
So far nothing showing bad. I have not checked the ground yet. I live in a barracks and have to disassemble and reassemble the bike when I do work (can't just leave it all out till the next day). I will be checking the ground this weekend, though I will admit I am not terribly hopeful that will be the answer. Nothing I did at the rear should affect the ground.
So I have a few questions. What else can I check? I know I should get an electrical diagnostic book, it will probably be next on my lists. I might have to take it in this time just because of where I have to live at the moment. With a possible radio failure in mind, what would be the best aftermarket route to take? Like a really good adapter for the handlebars and deck mounting hardware. Bonus if it sounds better than stock, but I'm not trying to break the bank. Is aftermarket the preferred path over stock?
If it turns out to be something simple like the ground is loose...or something that can be fixed on the old radio for under $50-$60...then stock it will stay. If its gonna cost me a rebuild, then I would like to here your opinions and what has worked best for you guys.
