How's this setup?
So this is what I'm thinking of doing.
Replace the head unit with a Sony MEX-BT3000P. I like the Bluetooth option and the Satellite radio setup. It has a 5 star rating and is around $100

Replace the 4 existing Jensen marine speakers with 4 Polk MM521 5 1/4th Coaxial speakers. The way the speakers are mounted into the fairing, there isn't a way to put bigger speakers into it unless they get mounted from the outside.

Adding in an amp. This is my weak point as I have no experience dealing with adding an amp. Since the speakers are 4 Ohms I've been looking for a 4 ohm amp. Trying to keep my pricing low and still get a quality amp I'm thinking of going with RF PBR300X4 amp. This provides 75 watts per each of the 4 channels. I'm assuming that is enough to get quality sound. I need to research how I want to set this up, but I was assuming 1 channel per speaker. Does anyone recommend a better amp at the same price point?

In my research I'm going with the assumptions that I'll need an amp kit as well as various connectors. The Hoppes fairing is a quick disconnect setup that I can take off the bike in about 5 minutes. I'll probably have to drill the fairing to put a second quick disconnect in place for the Amp power. Any recommendations on an amp connector and power package, I'd love to hear about it.
This should keep me in the $600 range. Is this a good setup? Anything you would change? All comments welcomed.
Thanks
So that leaves me with another question. The RF puts our 75 watts per channels on 4 channels. Which speaker would work better with this amp.
Hertz - High Energy w/ power handling of 70W continuous power and 140W max peak.
or
Arc Series 502 w/ power handling of 45W continuous power and 90W max peak.
Like I said, I'm a newbie with this stuff. Thinking the High Energy would be a waste as my amp can't push even close to the max level of the speaker. Then again, as far as I know, that may be a good thing.
Thanks!

I found a great place that wasn't to far away and the owner spent a good amount of time with me going over what I wanted. He took apart the fairing and started pointing things out. The biggest issue is that the 5" speaker space on the ends is very shallow. Guy indicated that you need to get special low profile speakers for that slot, which eliminates a good portion of the 5" speakers available. He also convinced me that the head unit and speakers I had were good enough and I just needed an amp.
In the end he installed an Arc amp and I really couldn't believe the difference it made. Very happy overall with the sound quality now. Was able to ride on the highway doing 80mph and clearly hear the music and actually feel some of the base.
As to head units, you can fit just about anything in that spot. You biggest issue is the speaker space and what you end up getting.
