My Hogtunes speakers of just a few months died yesterday. One is completely dead and the other sounds terminal. Since I can't find my proof of purchase to take advantage of their 20 year warranty, I guess I will have to just buy some new ones. Hogtunes is out since I don't want to be replacing speakers every few months, so I'm looking for some decent speakers, at a reasonable price, that I can use with my Hogtunes amplifier. I was looking at the J&M Rokker series also at their other speakers that sell for around $139.00, any thoughts on these or any others?
I'm sure UltraNutZ will chime in here. he has tried a lot of set ups over the years but I know he likes the Polks overall. I personally have heard the Hertz in a bike recently and they sounded pretty good, but I have heard the Polks have better bass. I really would like to find a place where I can hear some of these side by side. I'm in the Chicago area so chances are I will find some place to hear them all. I have the hog tunes now as well but I am upgrading my whole system and I am sure the Hog tunes will go. I plan on keeping the tweeter bar though...
Contact them and see if they have a record of the purchase, or check your bank/credit card statements
I bought it from a site here on the forum, not directly from Hogtunes. It came out as a Paypal transaction but I can't find anything in the history tab in Paypal.
Just did another search on Paypal and see that I bought them from Direct Harley Parts (now Direct Cycle Parts) in looking at what they are selling, I see they have a price of $82.00 for the 5x7 Hogtune speakers. Not that I want to spend money needlessly, but this may be a case of you get what you pay for. So maybe I should see what would be a good replacement since I have to take the fairing off AGAIN!

Reason: Adding
To be honest, I think I'd follow jimsflh's advice and contact Hogtunes. now that you've found your date of transaction in PayPal, they'll probably be willing to work with you on this and get you replacements. They're good folks and easy to deal with.

Reason: my train of thought
I just fired off an email to DHP since Hogtunes wants you to go through the vendor. Lets see what they say. I just bought this setup in July, 5 months use is not cool at all! Thanks!
