Polk versus Biketronics?
I'm looking for a comparison as to how they sound when riding down the road at 70 mph (loudness, clarity, frequency response, etc.), not a "bang for your buck" comparison, since the Polks cost considerably less.
1.) Titan IIs are the Hybrid Audio Technologies speakers re-branded. They are great speakers.
2.) Titan IIs are 4 ohm vs the Polk MM651 at 2.7 ohm so it would require you thinking about how you want to set this up as far as an amp is concerned before you start.
Polk speakers you have to get wherever you find them.
Biketronics customer support is stellar at worst.
Whichever way you go you'll be happy just make sure to use that polyfil in the fairing to tighten up the sloppy bass of these 6.5" speakers.
I had the biketronics in my fairing lowers (4ohm) and they were not giving me enough power because I have a 2ohm stable amp....so I switched to the Polkmm651 speakers and they are awesome...also used the polyfill.
My biketronic titan II are basically brand new....only been used for 60 seconds or so in my garage....Let me know if you are interested in buying them....Great speaker....I just had an amp that required more load to kick the volume....
the biketronics seem more universal for more amps....
Let me know if you want them...still have the boxes, and packaging.

I already have the Titan II's on my Ultra Classic but there has been so much positive response about the Polks, I was curious if anyone had made a direct comparison.
I'm planning to install either the polyfil or the J&M acoustic pads in my batwing.
Is one better than the other?
Lastly, I'm considering replacing my Alpine KTP-445U amp with the Soundstream PN4.320D. I am only using the Alpine on the fairing speakers, so I'm running it in the "bridged" mode (90 watts per channel @ 4 ohms). If I bridge the Soundstream, it is rated at 160watts per channel @ 4 ohms).
Do you think that the PN4.320D is small enough to sit on top of my CB module & adjoining spacer plate?
Do you think that I will hear a significant improvement in volume with the Soundstream without sacrificing clarity?
Do you think that there is a risk that the PN4.320D will over-drive the Titans?

both are about the same. I feel the difference is; with polyfil it’s more “controlled” meaning you can put more or less and end up with a different result. With the foam, it’s an acoustic foam so it’s good at what it does but it’s not controlled.

you’re going to have to stay with 4 ohm speakers with the ss amp because it’s not stable @2 ohms bridged which is what would happen with the polk mm651. And yes you are correct with the wattage.

i don’t know for sure. All you can do is try it and see. If all else fails, heavy duty hook/loop velcro will hold that cb module underneath the stock radio with no problem.

without a doubt, yes

i’ve said this many times before. Setups like this all boil down to common sense. It’s always better to have too much power (within reason) to drive a pair of speakers than not enough. How you set your gains and how you adjust your volume will dictate how long your speakers will last.
