I received my SS amp today, have a RFx2 I'm thinking of putting in my Tourpack, and putting a 6X9 speaker with the RF in my tourpack, placing it behind the seat pad in between the tour pack speakers to give me some extra bass.
I all ready have the 5x7 focal speakers in the lids.
Anyone here ever done this?
Also, my buddy, put 6X9's in his saddlebags today, facing the wheel in the lower back of the saddlebag, wow, that sounds great. They are also flush with the saddlebag. He is powered by the JL amp.
I think stereo for bikes hit a new high using the saddlebags and tourpack!
Now I'm looking for UltraNutz for his two cents worth, come on, I love your comments!

are you saying you want to put 6x9s IN your tour pak or replace your 5x7s with 6x9s?
ah I gotcha now.
since you like my comments so much, here ya go. :-)
weakening the structure of the tour pak is the first thing that comes to mind with this.
measuring the tour pak, you've got about 7.75" in height to work with so won't leave for much on top and bottom for structure.
I feel your major obstacle is going to be the length being long enough, however the tour pak is not perfectly flat, it has a curvature to it so unless you use a ton of silicone or a really thick rubber gasket I feel you would wind up with possible leaks.
if you decide to do this and because the speaker would be behind the flap, I wouldn't waste $ on a coax speaker but instead use a good 4 ohm 6x9 mid-woofer like the CDT CL-69 and bridge your PBR300x2 to 1 channel.
You'd be better off with 2 6X9's in each saddlebag,....than to cut up the tour pack......
I tend to agree with this also. GP has the setup you're referring to with the 6x9s in the bags facing inward, but 2 in each bag. The Pioneer 6x9s he's running are also the best spec-rated 6x9 I've seen to date. The current model of his 6x9s are the TS-D6902R.
