Default Amp Recommendations

I am currently running Infinity Kappa 62.9i's (2 ohm - 75W RMS - 225W Peak - 95 dB) in my 2013 Road Glide Custom with the stock HK head unit. No lowers or rears.

I am considering installing a Rockford Fosgate PBR300X2 or maybe a Kicker 12PX100.2. I am looking for any opinions on these or any better choices.

bmr, Search the audio threads here and you will find a lot of people like the R.F. amp. 2 channel good 4 channel bad. If you are considering adding lowers or bag lids the S.S. 520 D nano is a good choice. Also the S.S. Co. is coming out with a 2 channel amp ULtraNutz has been talking about it. Where is that sign in your signature at.

Impressive specs on the speakers. Not so impressive specs on the Kicker amp.
Since they're a 2 ohm speaker I'd go the route of the PBR300x2 unless you want to step up to a larger (physical) amp that will drive them more efficiently

pretty sure that sign in his sig is in what we call the "hill country" since this damn state don't have anything resembling mountains in it. :-)

San Antonio, Bandera, Luckenbach, Mountain Home, 3 Sisters (hwys 335, 336, 337), Medina, etc. that whole area is nice to ride and can be very dangerous when not paying attention to your surroundings. Lots of Axis deer around this area...

The sign is coming out of Leakey, TX on hwy 337 heading to Medina. It's one of the legs of the 3 sisters (335, 336, 337).

Thanks for the input, I may just hold out for the SS PN2.350D. Any ideas on how large (physical size) an amp will fit in a shark nose? I have limited my research to the smaller sized amps already mentioned due to fitment concerns.

as big as that shark-nose fairing is you'd think you can get away with pretty much anything but what messes RG owners up in this scenario is the way the headlight/fairing attach to those hooks limiting your space.

To answer your question, the largest I've seen put in the shark-nose and batwing fairings is the JL Audio XD400/4. That is an incredible amp by the way and they're a tad bit pricey but IMO worth it if you can afford to drop the coin on it.

all of the "motorcycle friendly" manufacturers have pretty good amps that fit in there but as for aftermarket;

2 PBR300x2 amps, possibly 3
2 PBR300x4 amps, possibly 3 will fit as well, but I'd shy away from this amp
2 SS PN4.520D will fit without a problem (one on each side)
as mentioned above the JL XD400/4
I would venture to say at 10.2" long the XD600/6 would fit as well but man you talk about having to hold your tongue the right way to get it in there.

Sounds like your saying the PBR300x2 may be a little under powered for these speakers. Would a SS TN2.600D be way to much amp?

Would I be better off trying to bridge a PN4.520D from 4 to 2 channels or is that a bad idea?

I am leaning more towards a class D amp, less concerns with heat.

i don't think that Tarantula amp would be too much.. It's all about common sense and volume control.. Always better to have too much power than not enough.

Do I think the PBR300x2 will run those Infiniti's and sound good, without a doubt
Do I think the TN2.600D will run those Infiniti's more efficiently and sound great, without a doubt.

you won't be able to bridge the PN4.520D because the Infiniti's are 2 ohm. Unless you're running 2 on each side, then you could wire them in series and then bridge the amp. That would sound great also.
