That's right, need 4 ohm load bridged, I forgot about that.

I don't know if I'm ready to start cutting holes in the fairing just yet, but installing the PN4.520D now and just using 2 channels would give me that option later.

I should get close to comparable performance with the PN4.520D on 2 channels versus the PBR300x2, correct? Plus the abilty to add speakers later.

To answer your question, the largest I've seen put in the shark-nose and batwing fairings is the JL Audio XD400/4. That is an incredible amp by the way and they're a tad bit pricey but IMO worth it if you can afford to drop the coin on it.

all of the "motorcycle friendly" manufacturers have pretty good amps that fit in there but as for aftermarket;

2 PBR300x2 amps, possibly 3
2 PBR300x4 amps, possibly 3 will fit as well, but I'd shy away from this amp
2 SS PN4.520D will fit without a problem (one on each side)
as mentioned above the JL XD400/4
I would venture to say at 10.2" long the XD600/6 would fit as well but man you talk about having to hold your tongue the right way to get it in there.
I just wanted to say thanks again for the awesome "tech info" you gave me on another thread. Can I ask you why you would "shy away" from the RF amp. The only reason I ask is because that is the amp I purchased that you gave me assistance with. I am committed to this amp now, but may be looking at future upgrades. Hope I didn't make a poor choice.

i think what I recommended to you was the PBR300x2.. great amp..

PBR300x4... not a good amp at all.

or let me rephrase.. Now that I think about it; I don't recall recommending an amp for your setup.. I think you told me which amp you already have and I won't tell someone not to use what they already have, just not my style. I simply provided instruction as to how to correctly install it.

That amp is hit or miss.. you either get a good one or your get a bad one... the bad ones, they get hot and when they heat up like that, distortion is the result. Distortion kills speakers in quick fashion. My personal experience with that amp (3 of them as a matter of fact) has not been a good experience at all as well as all the bad reviews it's gotten on this forum as well as others..

Yes sir you are correct as far as, that is the amp I purchased and that is when I posted the question for hooking it up. I will give it a try since I already have it and if it fails I will then be back asking the age old question "Which one do you recommend?" As it has been said in many of the threads you read on any of the forums "its only money right?" LOL.. Thanks again for your assistance. I will probably go ahead and upgrade my head unit as well. Probably gonna go with Sony, so I can dock my Ipod and will use biketronics retro radio outfit to keep all stock hand contols. I will let you know how the install goes. This is my first stereo upgrade on a bike, so I am sure this is just the beginning as Im also sure you have done much trial and error yourself. Come on SPRING!! Safe riding
