Sony M310 head unit
BT4180 amp
BT7P1's for the fairing
Titan II 6.5's for the lowers
BT479 6X9's for the saddlebags
Polk MM651's for the rear pods
My question is how do I hook up the speakers to the amp. My first thought was this (example):
Channel 1: Front L upper & lower in series
Channel 2: Front R upper & lower in series
Channel 3: Rear L pod & saddle bag in series
Channel 4: Rear R pod & saddle bag in series
Next thought, would it be better, and possible, to run polks directly from the HU and use channels 3 & 4 for the saddlebags? Would I get better sound from the 6X9's ?
Ultranutz and Glacier Pearl are the guys you want to talk to. Ultranutz is especially knowledgable in the area of amplification and ohm's law in regards to running things in series and how that will effect your total output. Good luck. Just did my system this past weekend.

You want to run the fairing and lowers in parallel so that the amp sees a 2 ohm load in front. I'm not 100% certain about the rear. I would call biketronics and speak with Bill. I would prob just run lids off amp and run pods off HU or get a 4ohm speaker for pods and run the rears in parallel also.

If you got the cash Cheddar just get another pair of 6.5 Titan II's and put them in your pods and run them in parallel. You should talk to Bill and see if the Titan's will fit in your pods. Biketronics doesn't list power for that amp at 2 ohms but it is 180 rms at 4 ohms so I would think it would be 200 rms or over per channel. WOW!

That might be something that I upgrade to later MM. lol. I'm waiting for a callback from Bill. I'll update later. Thanks.
UPDATE:
Talked with Bill and he suggested running the fronts in parallel (L upper/lower) (R upper/lower) and running the 6x9's by themselves. I'll run the Polks off the head unit. Can't wait to hear what it sounds like!
