With so many choices it seems every new person I ask what they recommend I get a new speaker to go look up. Infinity kappa, pioneer D class, hertz hi energy and now I jump on the forum and it looks like a lot of you are running polk. How long have you been running what you have and how happy are you with it? What's the consensus on components and has anyone tried the fosgate T2652-s??
Got a sony hu and gonna order the PN4.520D. Eventually gonna do 6x9s in bags but for now would like to stay under $200 for fairing speakers but willing to go higher
If I went with titan IIs in the front would I then have to put 4 ohm 6x9 in my bags? Or the other way around, if I went polks in the front could I not use 4 ohm 6x9??
Mike since the S.S. has 4 channels you can use a set of 2ohm or 4ohm set of speakers on either channel (front, or rear). If you use the Polks for example the mm651's 6.5 are 2.7 ohms so the amp will put out more watts 130 rms per channel plus they are cheaper than the Titan II's. If you decide (for example) to add lowers and speakers it would be better to use the 4 ohm speakers wired in parallel which would show a 2 ohm load to the amp. So if you are using just 2 sets of speakers (fairing and Lids) you can use 2 or 4 ohm speakers on either channel with that amp because it has 4 channels (L+R front L+R rear). Hope this helps! You could use Polks in the fairing and Titan II 6x9's in the lids.

Thanks moto! Molarman: gonna stick to just fairing and put 6x9s in the bags once I get the stretched bags. Ok so now its between the titan II or polk mm components. Anybody try both?
If you run the PN 5.520 I think I would go with the Polks as they are 2.7 ohm speakers.
You could go with a Biketronics amp and Titan II speakers. The BT4180 would give you 180 watts/channel at 4ohm. You could also go with the BT2180 end wire those front and rear in parallel so the amp would see 2ohms. This would give you about 125watts rms per speaker. You wouldn't have fade control this way.
