I have been thinking of doing an upgrade on the stock stereo. I currently have a 2010 EG Classic with a hog pod.
I'm considering adding rear pods, because the wife said she was having trouble hearing the radio. I'm having trouble locating a good used set at a fair price. Not to mention the $400 harness that would be necessary to add them with all the proper controls.
So the question is... Has anyone done this or would you suggest upgrading the front speakers with an amp and then doing a set of loud lids?
I got a set of take off speakers from a limited... for free so im gonna try to swap out my fronts and see if I have a bad speaker... if not I will probably just do the hogtunes "REV" kit for the time being....
Dude I wouldn't fool with those rear controls at all. You will soon find it very aggravating that tracks are changing by the passenger.
Look on eBay and search for June's Upholstery. They have a killer set of rear pods that are great quality.
IMO the rear pods make a tremendous difference especially to the passenger. So I'd go the route of the pods, drop in 2 sets of 6.5" Polk MM651 speakers and a SS PN4.520D amp and she will never complain about not hearing it again.
