Just installed HD's boom audio hidden on my FLHX and can say the FM reception's not as good as the outer box indicated. Noticed poor reception in areas where HD's shorty/whip wasn't having any distortion. So far - not too pleased, but not ready to tear into fairing again, with riding season in full swing.

Do not have one because I've heard this too many times. I just use my iPhone. I did lay my stock antenna along the frame and works pretty good and is hidden. But fm radio still sucks.

Save your money and install your stock or shorty antenna in the fairing.

I bought one of ebay for $20 and its not the best, but it works in town. Doesn't bother me that much as I listen to the ipod and rarely the radio

yeah those things just simply don't work well.

couple of options I've been seeing.

1.) modifying the stock bracket at the saddlebag to lay the antenna down in between the saddlebag and the frame
2.) as ironman2011 pointed out. Take the stock antenna and simply lay it across the inside top edge of the fairing. This seems to work best.

Thanks for info. I don't have a stock antenna because I have a Fatboy which doesn't come with one. I will look into a stocker.

I've got the J&M Flexpower and it works great. One of the few things I would recommend from J&M.
