lots of guys are picking up focals or polk DB series grills and simply removing the logos. They can be had on eBay for a little of nothing. Also I saw mentioned a little while back that a place called parts express I believe, has generic grills also.

I looked at the focal grills I'm not so sure as to how they mount? It appears there just friction fitted and I would worry about them flying off after some time?

I think the way the Focals mount is the base of the speaker grill goes under the actual speaker rim. Then you have this black sticky stuff (can't remember what it's called) that you put around the inside lip of the speaker grill base and then simply push your grill onto/into it. That stuff is pretty durable so I'd think it would stay put.

Well I did get conformation from forum member jb27 here is what he says:

Thanks. I'm not sure if the focal grills would fit your speaker or not. I mounted mine by just pressing them into the space between the speaker and the housing. There was some black sticky stuff that focal used to hold the grill in the rings that were provided with the speakers, i just used that. I had to take the grill out of the rings they came with. They did allright for awhile but eventually vibrated themselves loose as you suspected. I ended up getting some heavy duty 3m two sided tape and used little pieces of it to hold them in a little better.

Good luck with your project.

Jon

So what are you guys all using for speaker grills for your lowers? Looks like I may have to go with the HD grills after I cut 1 arm and leg off.............
